Optical Dynamics Casting Q2100 With Nanoclear ARC

    Hi,

We are considering the In office casting system with the Nano clear AR by Optical Dynamics, Were really hoping to get feedback from those that have first hand experience. we will only be using the system for rush jobs.......if you could kindly share your experience i would be most grateful.

    Thank you!

PS. Ive researched similar threads, but its mostly opinions from non users and well wishers with no first hand experience.

Might want to look at the number of people on Opti board wanting to sell these. There is a posting today with someone wanting to sell the monomer.

I use this system all the time. Our office loves it. The lenses are comparable to a GT2 and most the time we use it for first time Progressive wearers, people with no insurance, or like I said patients who have been in a GT2. We have noticed if you use a lot of Essilor products it is hard for patients to adjust to this lens. Also if someone is rough on their glasses and have used multiple scratch warranties it is best to keep them with the Lab AR. As this one is a little hard to maintain for the patient.

....i just noticed it was from 2006.....OOOOOOOPS

Man that sounds like a terrible promotion for this product. It sounds bad, yikes.

Redhot Jumper Stayed away from all these do it yourself lens makers................................

Stayed away from all these do it yourself lens makers since I invested and lost $ 30,000 in 1983 with some 4 other Canadians optical investors in a Los Angeles venture, whose owner spent a few years in jail afterwards.

I worked for an optometrist who bought the system new and signed a purchase agreement for monomer. This was before the thing became available with AR. He committed over $100K for the machine and monomer. I don't think we made more than 50 pairs total -- the thing sucked that badly. On one occasion, a gnat somehow got between the molds and didn't cut out when the lens was edged; we didn't charge extra for the bug. It was messy, time-consuming, and it was difficult to get a minimally satisfactory result.
