Redhot Jumper What is really your AR coating worth .....................

Do you know what are the ingredients of an AR coating and thousands of similar coating applications in a world wide industry from gems to electronics and many other industries.

The material contained in the coating of an item is so little that it would never justify the price optical AR coatings are sold as you can buy other item that went through a very similar procedure and are mass produced.

I have a list on my website that will give an idea what materials are used to make your fancy coatings in milligrams.

You can check it out at: http://optochemicals.com/oxides.htm

Chris; so many things are worth more than just the material they are made of. Ease of use, warranty, exclusivity and more influence the final price.

How many customers have complained about the the "terrible" A/R they got from some where and they will never get that again because it smeared and scratched and was hard to clean. Compare that to a "top line" A/R that they can probably clean on their shirt, if they even need to, and not scratch.

So I am not sure what the point is.

The chemicals in the average human body cost about $1 US.

I sell my expertise in explaining AR, the quality vision and excellent cosmetics the coating provides, the peace of mind in cleanability, durability, and warranty. I don't charge extra for the chemical components. :)
