    Prevencia with Transitions

How do prevencia and transitions work together? Does the increased UV filter interfere with the transitions activation?

Since Transition is on the front I would not think it would interfere.

Prevencia - or ANY A/R process is applied on top of the photochromic layer as I've always been told & shown. That would make the OP's question valid. Has that changed?

On some of the other UV added A/Rs the extra UV is only on the backside of the lens.

I have yet to work with Prevencia so I'm wondering if that is different.

In theory it shouldn't affect the performance standard transitions VII, since it only filters some of the blue-light wave lengths. I have not gotten an answer from my essilor rep on whether it would change the performance of the Xtra Active transitions, since Xtra uses both UV and some of the visible light spectrum to change. He just said, "Don't use those two together to be safe"

So no Prevencia on Xtra active, but other than that it should have no effect whatsoever.

A call directly to Transitions may be in order. They have reps that should be able to answer this once and for all with some form of authority one hopes.

its back side UV.... we sell over 100 prevencias a month... the only draw back is that the trans AND prevencia make it look like a 10% grey or a trans xtra active... if you have someone sensitive to that lil residual "tint" Id use avance' instead.

While in theory it should have no bearing on the transitions, my rep specifically told us not to use them together. Seems they know that the transitions doesn't work as well as expected

I have a pair I wear with both of them together. When my transitions are activated, it does have a bit more purple of a hue. They seem to lighten and darken just as quickly as my other pair with Avance

Have Recharge and Transitions Brown myself. The combination looks clear in most situations but in photos you look like you've got a Brown #1-2, circa 1970s tint. It hasn't effected the quality of the transitions at all, though there is a bluish "mirror" effect outdoors.
