I know there many here, but since many of us have mixed backgrounds, just thought I'd give a shout out to the fellow lab rats!
Who here works in currently in an Optical lab? (not just edging in a retail office)
Lab rats, Announce!

Lab rat here too...first post here too!
I don't work in a lab anymore, and I think something is wrong with me because I miss it!
Got my start working in the lab. Don't work in one as much but I do miss it

Ok... so it seems to me that those of us that have worked in the lab and no longer do, miss it. Hmmmmm....
I started in the lab too, however since I wasn't afraid to talk to the patients, I was pretty much thrown on the floor once I had my license. When I've worked on and off (and on and off) for the LC, they would use me to fill in when they needed me. It was always a nice break from the patients.
It's nice to have a break from patients. I was just thinking that a few min ago when I was dispensing a pair of glasses. After giving the patient her glasses and checking adjustment she says, "Oh...don't get too close...I'm REALLY sick." Great. Thanks. Clorox wipes anyone???
Once upon a time.... sure do miss it, but nothing wrong with advancement

I used to have one for close to 20 years. It was also the second lab in Canada that got unionized ................what a time to remember.
Have one on me.
Kids, I was cutting metal laps on an oldfield lap cutter way before aluminum came around the surfacing room! I am not in a lab now, but sure have been there. We scored the lap with a file, before we started using the metal pads.
No stone laps?
