Needing custom frames in or around Kansas City

I had a kiddo in today that is in a wheel chair with a head rest. He has no head movement so he is always reclines. Normal glasses don't work out well for patient in this situation so I normally turn to a sports frame with a strap and no temples. This kid has a huge head though. I ordered a Liberty sport Maxx31 in the 55 eye with a 20 dbl. I am hoping it works but the parents asked about a normal pair of glasses without temples. I don't carry any like that and thought they might look for someone that could customize a pair of glasses for him. Does anybody in or around Kansas City do this?

Check with Debbie at Optical Innovations in Westport. She may know of someone or Meadows Optical, Shawnee.

I have used the Adidas Evo Eye's for this, they have a few sets that come with strap temples. Good luck.

Just shooting from the hip here.. but couldn't one modify an existing frame using a strap? I am thinking of Lightec hinges. Using the "hooks" to form the hinge. Perhaps taking the temples off having that nice slot there would allow one to attach a strap...

miraflex has some that still look kind of like sports glasses but maybe less so? They have s trap to hold them on in the back, you can get them in some good colors and they're totally flexy bendy
