Best of luck, I'd rather ride the NIGHTTRAIN.

Out of curiosity how many of us limit the amount of VCP patients scheduled during the week.

Sure.. only those that are already available! Seriously..there is no way to limit this in our practice because the majority have a VCP. Most of our referrals come from coworkers.

I charge a $25 "pattern fee", for any outside frames. I had a fake D&G yesterday (plastic/vinyl hinges AND screws! LOL), the guy (kid) said he paid $10 for the frame (I told him he over paid, which he did), then he paid the $25 fee, plus $129 for the lenses. We made them in the back, cold snapped them, and off he goes. He should be back in Monday, lenses in hand, looking for a real frame!

We charge $35 for POF and have them sign a waiver we are not responsible for damage breakage or replacement on their frame. I got a bad Google review over the fee even though the prices and policies were clearly explained to the patient's father. He had a bit of buyer's remorse after paying for the lenses in addition to the POF fee. Can't be all things to all people but it works for the majority of patients who want to do this. Had this policy in place for almost 7 years and its worked 98% of the time.

We charge for POF's but I call it a "tune-up fee". I'm not about to put someone's grimy frame in my sensitive tracer, getting crap inside of it. We scrub, clean and put new nose pads on metal frames, if it's a drill mount we charge a drilling fee. Everybody like to get their frame back looking good!
