    VSP Savings Statement Glitches!!!!

Please check the math on your VSP Savings Statements for the patients. I have had several glitches come up on them lately. I just had one on a frame where the patient's overage showed $48 more than what he should be paying! I called VSP and reported it. The person that I talked to said that they are having some issues with the lens options not calculating right as well!

Never really used that savings sheet. As long as you are using the correct listings for lens options under their respective Signature/Choice plan, then you will be fine. Also, VSP site was down a few days ago for maintenance issues so they still could be working out the bugs from that.

Same here. Frame charges are screwing up. More often with Choice than Signature plans.
This lets you double check your charges as well as create a correct savings statement before submission to lab and VSP. We tend to do it regardless of discrepancies with the statement.

    You can:
Just before submitting- "save" the order
click "reports"- "View saved statements" click yes.
click " savings statement" adjust the frame charge box manually to reflect correct amount then print that page to give to the patient.
    click "close"
then submit as usual but disregard the wrong savings statement.

Our bookkeepers have us print besides the savings statement and packing slip the "VSP Doctor Service Report" which is saved until paid by vsp.

Newguy- By not checking the box that says you will provide the savings statement to the patient you are losing .50 cents on every VSP patient or so it was a while back. For us anyway, that does add up at the end of the year.

My co worker says he sees no reimbursement on the EOB so maybe it is no longer paid.

We use office mate and eyefinity to verify the VSP statements. I tried putting together a spreadsheet using vlookup for all of the pricing and whatnot. It worked until they discontinued the specialty lenses. Then I curled up in the fetal position and cried. Fortunately they are now using the S lens again and provencia. I haven't fixed the spreadsheet tho. To many sad memories.
