    Help on Prescrption ? Optical Proffesionals only please

    Hi Guys,

    Just need some advice/help on an issue I have. Every year I like to go for an eye test to make sure my site is 100% however I have been using the same prescription for the last 4 years because I believe it is almost perfect for me. I have tried the new prescriptions given to me in the last 3 years however I find it easier to see out of my 4 year old prescription!

    My old prescription which is what I am currently wearing is :

    R = -1.50 -0.50 25
    L = -1.50 -0.50 5

    New Prescription is : -

    R = -1.50 -0.75 20
    L = -1.75 -0.75 5

    My first question is I believe I have slight Ptosis on my left eye, could this be why my left eye SPH value has gone up by -0.25 (By the way nobody has told me I have Ptosis I just believe I do as my top left eye lid is a little droopy).

    Second Question is can the Axis change, as I believe this number means where the astigmatism is placed, and to help the technician place the lens at the correct angle in the glasses? The right eye has changed by 5 ?

    I agree with the astigmatism (CYL) value as the past 2 eye tests have shown the same value.

    Please advise (Optoms only) ?? :D
