I think you mean biological materials - the best natural materials for frames in my opinion are either titanium or cellulose (reacted with acetic acid to produce CA).
Just saying.......
At Silmo I saw a company making frames from paper. That was really expensive paper. Probably the most expensive paper product ever, except for US 100$ bills.
Paper, wood, shell, nut, straw, leaf, bones, horn, bamboo, leather, fur, seed, skin, animal fiber.............
How about mammoth tusk frames? If you need to ask about their price, then you cannot afford them.

I would suppose that you could make an ophthalmic frame from just about any material but . . . why? We have an abundance of frames made from tried and true materials that have withstood the test of time. I suppose that a line of petrified water buffalo dung frames would place you in a unique market position to compete with the big box stores.
New and different ain't always best!
New and different ain't always best for sure but new and different are wonderful attributes to have. I'd say that a lot of people are looking for new and different things to set then apart from more generic offices.
