When older, out of warranty AR coatings on CR39 lenses fail, by crazing, delamination or any other reason, they can be saved, and can still be used as a spare, or tinted and are not lost.

The safest non dangerous AR Stripper, containing a only 12.6% total acid content in a solvent mix, is now available in small quantities of 250 ml for use in an optical retail business. If stored in a plastic jar with a cover the product will last up to 6 month before decomposing and will strip numerous pairs of lenses.
Most clients would like to save these lenses for further use and would be grateful to any optician that could provide this service.
