Hi I am very curious to see if anyone started in the optical field in the military?
Army 42e in particular......
I started as a 42E. Went through Fitz in 1965. Met and worked with some very interesting and talented people. I still manage to keep in contact with a few of those people. I just had a visit from one of them two weeks ago. I also had a phone conversation with another from 1969.
I attended an OMICS user seminar the last time the OLA was in Las Vegas and got to catch up with a classmate of mine. It was fun to take the picture of us and the class picture and see if they could guess who was who.

Thank you Jerry,
Your time at Fitz was a bit before my time,i was there for training from 1985 to 1986
we had a small class of very capable people whom i hope are still in the field...
i think you will agree that the army gave us a fine foundation upon which to build a career in this field and i hope as this forum expands i may run across a few old friends from my days at Fitz..those of you who read this please encourage any optical friends that got their start in the military to post here
Hi! I was also a 42E at Fitzsimons. I was there in 80-81. I am licensed in NC now. I know I learned a quite a bit of my optical profession in the army, but more importantly, I learned how to conduct myself, and how to respect others. Too bad our young people of today aren't required to serve in the military.
