Read fast & talk faster to send a nomination before the day is out! (Some of the class acts here on Optiboard could surely get my vote.)

Meanwhile...I wonder who the contendors might be? Where are the leading ladies working in the industry?

I'm not sure I'd say Judy is "most influential." One of the most respected certainly (and someone who recognizes and can take a joke...).
I don't know if it's a sad commentary on our industry, society at large, or just my memory, that I see numerous articles by and about women in the trade magazines on everything from best business practices to advanced optics, but I couldn't tell you any of their names....
On the other hand, that could be seen as a good sign regarding equality, that it doesn't matter the gender of the writer, but what is written.
There are rules. Knowing those are easy. There are exceptions to the rules. Knowing those are easy. Knowing when to use them is slightly less easy. There are exceptions to the exceptions. Knowing those is a little more tricky, and know when to use those is even more so. Our industry is FULL of all of the above.
HAHA! I suppose my "star" has tarnished a bit since 2006!
