    Replacing Lensometer & Pupilometer

Not sure when, but I need to get a game plan. Don't like the idea of buying used on these things.

P: Any brand recommendations? Don't mind spending $500 over $350 if the thing is more reliable. Don't want to spend $150 on a decal label, though.

L: I've gotten along fine with the Marcos I've worked with up til now. The one I inherited here though is on its last legs and I can't see sinking money into it for tune ups.

Should I save $2k for another Marco? Any other recommendations? Preferably from those who've had extensive experience with both?

    Much obliged!

I have purchased several used Marco lensometers in the past and they have worked great. Marco has really set the standard for a good quality and accurate lensometer.

    I would go digital lensometer. It's a real time-saver.

One more vote for Marco. If you don't know someone who can tune it up, call Walman optics. They do a great job, pretty quick turnaround, and not very expen$ive.

    Thanks all!

I like Walman, too. In my current situation though, it might be easier to requisition new equipment than a repair job. Plus the equipment I have still leaves me jittery of tossing money into a pit.
