    Eyeglasses

In 2000, my husband and I visited Amberg, Germany. I purchased a pair of glasses and brought them back to the United States to have my prescription added. When they were returned with the prescription, the lenses were completely different than the ones I purchased. I have lost the receipt and the name of the optician where I purchased them. I would like to have a photo of the frames with lenses sent to me so I can show them to the people who put the prescription in. The name of the company who made them is:CARAT Fashion - Made in Germany. The identifying number is:4014/A col. 196 48 17 135. If anyone can find this style and send me a photo, I would be most appreciative. You can also fax a photo if that would be easier. My fax number is 215-247-1563. I am extremely frustrated because I have not been successful in finding someone to help me. HELP!

I don't understand. If you were having a new prescription put into your frames, then of course the lenses would be different than the originals.

Guess I didn't make it clear. By different, I mean, the SHAPE of the lenses came back completely different than the original shape.

I hoping someone out there can find info on CARAT frames. I refuse to wear them as they are now. If I could just get a photo I would be able to take them back to the people who did this and show them how they're supposed to look. Without any proof, my hands are tied.

Like John, I can't find anything about eyeglasses made by CARAT Fashion or CARAT. The closest I could find was this cached page (i.e., the page is no longer available) from the Zeiss website:

If the place you got your glasses at is real smart, they kept the origional demo lenses (the shape) in your file. Ask if they did and make them compare, if a discrepancy exists, have them remake the lenses.

Carat is a Zeiss frame. Last I knew Menrad distributed the Zeiss frame lines. We don't have a Menrad account anymore or I would check the website for you. Perhaps someone else here can help.

Exclamation One e-mail just received yesterday.................................

    from a friend of mine.........................

A true story...I don't know if I should laugh or cry...

My reading glasses storage case is black, about seven inches long and about 2 inches wide.
When I left to go for breakfast this morning it was not quite full daylight, about seven o'clock. So I did what I always do, pick up my newspaper, put my glasses in my pocket and headed out to the restaurant to meet my breakfast partner.
As I opened my newspaper to read the headlines I also reached for my glasses.........................
It's very difficult to read with the TV remote control.!!!!!
