    Confused OfficeMate scanner headaches

I am wanting to get a barcode scanner for Officemate.

The question is, does anyone know how to configure the datalogic scanner? I really don't want to spend an extra 400 bucks on a preconfigured model from think smart. Of course OM will not help, they simply refer me to Thinksmart whom wants to sell me a service pack.

I found the manual to the datalogic scanner, but honestly it reads like mandarin to me.

Before I spend the coin on the thinksmart device I hope someone knows of an easy button...

We used a Datalogic Heron D130 scanner with OM and now with Revolution. Easy-peasy.

At one time OM Sold and serviced scanners, label printers etc. I believe that Think Smart is a subsidiary of OM, subsidiary of VSP. They gave figured out how to squeeze every dollar out of their product. That being said your time is one of your most important resources. In the big picture how much is your time worth. I would (and have) bucked up and moved on. Good luck.

I just got the one listed from think smart from new egg... Works fine. I did have to get the almost $800 printer from them. Ugh... The reader was like $115 shipped with stand.

Is it a sato cx printer? They work well, I have been using one for over 10 years. I foresee an issue developing as many frame companies are going to 13 digit UPC codes. There is an issue with the margins and the scanners ability to read the longer code. I do not see OM addressing this issue as they are only focused on "meaningful use" and ICD 10 coding. They are not addressing minor issues in day to day running if the software.

update... my scanner is the qd2100 datalogic... found out the other day it was not reading the barcodes generated by OM even though it just scanned the one on the frame bag...

I reached out to think smart even though i did not buy it from them... he emailed me a code to scan which did not work and tried to get me to sign up for a $200 a year service so I could ship it there and he would "burn" a new program in to it...

    nah...

I emailed datalogic and they sent me a correct 2 of 5 interleave 2 to 99 character bar code to "update" my 2100... bam! DONE!

pm me if needed and I can help you get that code if you pick up a QD2100
