Vegas Rooms Going Fast!

Of course, some of our friends here on Optiboard will never admit that there are any more than a handful of attendees at VEW (fine w/me), but if vacancies are any indication, VEW will be packed this year.

I usually book my room about a month before, often later. Even days before the show, there are usually rooms available at the lower level (like Harah's) properties. This year, not only do the prices seem to be quite a bit higher, but there are a lot more "Sold Out" notices on the site.

Optical 24/7, James Herman, OBX, and myself figured out a way to beat the system though. Yes siree! A few sturdy tarps, some water jugs, and cooler full of hot dogs will keep us nice and cozy under the I-15 bridge. If it rains, we'll even have a pool! OBX went all "high brow" on us, and is bringing a designer shower curtain to sleep in, but we're a welcoming bunch. Meet us under the bridge after the show!

Oh boy! I'm closer to Vegas now!!!! One year when I don't have kids/husbands out to sea/a house to unpack I gotta get out there!!! Of course I just spent the last three months in a camper. I will in fact not be sleeping under a bridge. Must at least have a van down by the river. Is there a river in Vegas?

Yes, there is a "river" but it's got gondolas in it. Of course, there's Lake Mead, where Fezz parks the micro bus, and gives $5.00 bumper skiing lessons. He's always got an extra lawn chair for visitors.

Hey Johns! Speaking of gondolas, I got us a gig at the canals as Mermen. I picked up an extra set of arm floaties and flippers for you. All you'll need to bring is your mankini. If any of you OBer's see us, you can throw us a fish! (Preferably battered and deep fried..)

Yea, the embankment under the bridge is high and dry, but let's make James sleep at the bottom of it this time instead of the top (he pee's in his sleep!) See ya in Sin City!

We're saving money this year ,,, didn't bother with rooms ... we always end up schnockered, lost and pass out where ever we lay ... free's up cash for more fun stuff! If any one see's a six foot three man with a shaved head and a beard hooten' and hollerin' while he try's to scale the buildings and other features ... stop and say 'Hi!' I'd love to meet some OB'ers in person.

Johns, James, OBX! Be on the lookout for a tall, bald, bearded dude passed out while we cruise the strip... Sounds like there might be some "freed up cash" just laying there. We can take the pilfered funds and go down to Casino Royale, buy some hooch and double down at the craps table!
