Help! Need screen for AIT Combimax edger. (Or compatible)

The screen on the edger was going, going,...and now it's finally gone. Does anyone have a Combimax (or Maxima should also work) that is sitting around for parts? Or, do you know of a comp. fix that would work?

The screen on out Optronics 7E went down and we just hooked a 15" monitor to it, and it's worked great since then (4 years). The Combimax is a small screen so I don't think an OTC will work.

    Any ideas???

Have you opened it up and pulled the connectors looking for corrosion from water penetration ? Wipe the connectors with alcohol, gently clean and scrape each then apply wd 40 to any multi connector and securely snap the connectors together again ?

Is there a manufacturers name on the screen ?

There are some Combimaxes for sale for parts but the screens are also defective

How common is this problem and is AIT not standing behind a fix for goodwill ?

Is this a screen problem ? Or software and drivers ?

Have you tried a TV repair guy ?

If you dont find a fix, send it to me i will get it to my guy who rebuilds everything including motherboards, screens, motors and switches.

He just saved me $2000 by fixing my ME-1000 chuck button instead of me replacing and upgrading the whole motherboard.

Yes, we think it may be as simple as the cables. We are awaiting a ribbon cable to test it.

    THanks!

Via, yes, it was the cable.

I'd be game for another edger (backup) if he's got any complete units...
