    Transition VI vs Transition VII

A few of my customers have been complaining about the fade back speeds of VII (not sure how Transitions measured a 20% faster fade back speed than VI; field testing show otherwise), but love the lower transmission it permits.

Which would you recommend to your loyal customers? If you selected "Other", please state an alternative to the two.

Zeiss photofusion is super fast. but the gray has alot of blue in it. I tend to prefer the brown.

Trans 7 has a perfect neutral gray I love but 20 min to clear is way to long.

Another vote for photofusion. I don't mind the bluey grey too much. My patients prefer not bumping into stuff when they go inside.

Just get demos in store let the patients see and choose between zeiss and Trans for themselves, otherwise I give them what I like and thats Trans VII by a mile for me. Though they stay a lil dark a lil longer, it isn't perceivable much by me when I'm the one wearing them.

Trans VI is only available in old stock (If a lab has them laying around), only VII is being manufactured today.

I prefer the water white look when indoors.

Big pita when you need one lens only now.

I'll take comfort in that the new and improved water white transition 8 will be released in a couple of years.

I've compared my 6s and 7s and got noticeably faster results out of my 7s. Any possibility of getting enviornmental data that can reproduce that field test?

Yeah a few companies still offer Trans VI. One company that comes to mind would be ClearlyContacts.

Identical on both...Essilor poly, both with Crizal Avance.

I think Optiboard is well suited to test this sort of marketing data. If there's really a discrepency in performance results, we might narrow down variables like temperature, barometric pressure, time of day, angle from sun, etc. If Optiboarders can reproduce consistent results, we'd be doing our patients a favor--either confirming or refuting (or often just clarifying) manufacturer marketing info. I'd be happy to contribute if anyone else were interested.

What do you think, boys and girls?
