Question on most advanced technology lenses?

We fit a lot of Essilor product and a small amount of Shamir. We would like to transition away from Essilor to an extent for our "high end" lenses or our most advanced DST technology progressives. What would be several lenses that are really considered to be the top of the line when it comes to advanced technology and customized fit to optimize the Rx as much as possible. Appreciate any discussion that follows. Looking to hear about lenses and fitting processes that truly stand alone and are exceptional.

IMO Hoya Id and Zeiss Individual 2 are two candidates.

The Hoya Id has two models, the MyStyle and LifeStyle 2:

    • MyStyle - fully customizable based on a series of questions asked of the patient about their activities, but the results may be less than satisfactory since the interpretation of the questions by the design software is confusing IMO. In other words, you might end up with hard design with narrow and short intermediate, when you really want the opposite. Although not absolutely required, the MyStyle has many more patient measurements that can be used to customize the lens (panto, wrap, vertex, etc).
    • LifeStyle 2 - comes in two designs, Harmony (a soft balanced design) and Clarity (harder design with good distance and near, but less intermediate). Although not as customizable as the MyStyle, at least you know what you are getting in terms of hard vs soft, etc. Hoya says that the LifeStyle 2 is basically the same as the MyStyle, but based on patient averages rather than complete customization for patient activities (once you choose between Harmony and Clarity). But like the MyStyle, the LifeStyle 2 lens itself is completely customized for the specific Rx, frame, PD, etc. Most patients will probably be very happy with the LifeStyle 2 Harmony, especially if they use computer or handheld electronic devices. I am wearing the LifeStyle 2 Harmony right now and am very happy with them.

Zeiss Individual 2 has three options. Like the Hoya MyStyle, it accepts a wide range of measurements (panto, wrap, vertex, etc), although you can take the defaults:

    • ID 2 - balanced design
    • ID 2N - wider near area, hard design
    • ID 2I - wider and longer intermediate - soft design

The Zeiss Individual 2 and Hoya ID's are available in a wide range of materials, including Trivex and 1.60 plastic, both of which have relatively high abbe values of 41 or higher.

Are you going to continue with the Shamir products?

I am surprised you wouldn't look deeper into the shamir line? They offer a great line of products and are always looking to improve and offer unique technology. They are very well priced and offer products at all price points. I have had great success with them thus far.
