Continued Growth for Canadian Online Sales Trend

<<Online sales totalled more than $136B in 2013: StatsCan

The Canadian Press Jun 11, 2014 09:00:53 AM

OTTAWA – Statistics Canada says Canadian businesses sold more than $136 billion in goods and services over the Internet in 2013, up from $122 billion a year earlier.
The agency says wholesale trade, manufacturing and retail trade accounted for 61 per cent of the value of e-commerce sales, similar to the 2012 results.
It says about 13 per cent of businesses sold goods or services over the Internet in 2013, up from 11 per cent in 2012.
Large companies, those with 100 or more employees, accounted for nearly all of the growth in the value of online sales in 2013.
These businesses were responsible for about $87 billion, or 64 per cent of the value of total online sales.
For businesses that sold online in 2013, almost a quarter of the value of their total sales came from Internet transactions.>>

Ophthalmic goods are included in these figures. If you're an independent ECP, you must be able to compete effectively, retain your current patient base and look for continued growth all without affecting your gross margin or product brand quality. Is it possible? Absolutely, I've been doing it effectively for some time now. PM me for details, no aliases please.

well well................... if the figures of online sales are going up, where does that increase come from ? Web sales have been increasing on a continuous bases for the last few years. Just too bad that Essilor has turned off the information that was coming out of Coastal for the last few years. Coastal has become dead silent in this department. They are now operating 14 new retail websites they took over from Coastal..

We vcan all hope but do have to face the facts that the web is growing in all departments and not single out the optical retail.
