What's that new lineless bifocal called? Not a progressive

I know there is a thread here somewhere but I can't find it! What's that new lineless bifocal called? It's not a progressive.

Shamir DUO. Its more of zero seam bifocal

Thanks. I think I have a patient that might benefit. Hated progressives and isn't thrilled with his new Flat Tops. He has VSP. My lab says they don't have the lens yet but will be getting it.

Try US OPTICAL. They are doing a great job with turn around also. I have been having very good success with them so far. Dispensed 5 pair with everyone seemingly very happy with choice.

anyone have any experience with the Duo, how is it performing? patient satisfaction?

im concerned about the cost, its a little spendy retail and for those that want a multifocal lens im torn selling them the duo over a digital or freeform progressive. Even the office lens is less expensive or perhaps the anti fatigue lens might suit them. It seems like a tough sell.

Unfortunately, I have no say or control over where we order our lenses. I'm interested in this lens for those patients who don't like progressives but also don't like having a lined bifocal.

That's why Shamir was willing to allow Essilor to buy a chunk of the company, to make it more accessible/distribution thru E labs and E coatings. It's easier to swim with the current than against.

Pardon my ignorance, but can anyone fill me in on how the power jumps at a point without a visible ledge? Is this really a bifocal or a progressive that is used as a bifocal by virtue of a super super super short (unusable) corridor?

There is a slightly noticeable blend from the distance to the near. So far I have dispensed 7 pair. Two have come back. One was a previous pal non adapt who said he just didn't like the blend zone, the other was a pilot who previously wore St 28 but wanted to try it. Came back and said he still had too much blurriness on the sides, other than flying they were great he said. Also fit a pair in a wrap sunglass for a Plano with a +1.50 add and he loved them. He had also tried pal previously.
