I would venture to guess it was the Crizal A/R that made them expensive.
Please don't tell me that they are charging us more for this green photochromic versus the standard gray or brown??????

From a lab stand point, the cost of the transitions green lens blanks is 30% more expensive than the Transitions Gray.

I should clarify that the cost difference is using an Essilor Transitions blank vs other vendors. I am specifically referring to CR39. I have not looked into the other materials yet.

I find that hard to believe.

I just ordered a single plano CR39 lens from ABBConcise (via Essilor) and the cost was no more than what I would expect to pay for the same product in Gray or Brown.

The costs for the SFSV CR39 Essilor Gray, Brown and Green Transitions is the same. Essilor costs more than other vendors. In terms of stock lenses you are correct, the cost difference is minimal between vendors.

Took nearly a month but the plano demo lens finally arrived. Did not darken very well in the UV demo box, but once we took it outside it darkens very nicely! Gray is our most popular, so I will be interested to see if more people will try this new color option out.

Question, how is this different from the Transitions G-15 Seiko has had out for a few years now?

If I recall correctly, the Transitions G-15 from Seiko did not start as a clear lens.

From what I from one of my labs rep it will be the same availability and price as they build up a back stock. However transitions are up for a Up coming price increase.

Can we compare Rodenstock ColorMatic Green, BBGR Green-Grey & Transitions Green? Or this comparation will be incorrect?
What's the fuzz about Transitions Green? Only because of its number 7 or something else?
Wasn't Rodenstock making green photochromic lenses earlier?
I'm just trying to find out the information...
    Thanks.

Had our sample for a few weeks now, none of my patients like it.

I was told it would be more popular with younger patients - that's a great line, but obviously BS.

I have it now in a Nikon Digilife. I feel 20 years younger!

Yes Rodenstock sold ColorMAtic green years ago. See their web site for the new generation ColorMatic IQ

Tried to order it on VSP and it wasn't in the drop down. Switched the patient to gray.

My understanding on the product is that only Essilor owned Labs or Labs with Essilor account are allowed to order it.

Essilor is the only lens caster that distributes the Transitions Graphite Green. Having said that, just about every wholesale lab in the country has an account and thus has access to the Transitions Graphite Green lens blanks. That means that you can order a wide range of lens styles from the lab of your choice, provided that the lens styles can be made from a SFSV blank.

Graphite Green does not yet have a VSP Product Code. It is not unusual for new products to take 6 months or more to receive a VSP Product Code.

Does any bode know: how does Transitions Green corellate with the BBGR's Graphyte Green Transitions VII Signature? Is it the same product?
Cause BBGR rep is positioning their product like unique in color? Is it true?
    Thanks for help in advance.

The new Transitions Green Color is actually called Transitions Graphite Green. See the link below.

Been in the graphite green for a couple of weeks now and I can honestly say I'm pleased. I like the contrast and it's dark enough for me. (The brown rarely bothered me either, so bear that in mind.) My first 'Signature' transitions pair--the speed is a nice bump over 6, too.

I prefer Crizal Sapphire for the not-green anti-glare reflection, but I left Avance for this set of lenses.

St Patrick's Day, here I come!
