I have a question for David Wilson or another Australian/New Zealand D.O.
I've posted a question about training progressive wearers in using the vert, and have found that some can not adjust the eye piece to be clear at plano without their specs. Using the specs doesn't seem to help either, as the student is having difficulty.
Another person posted this reply:
Not being sure of what lensometer you are using, I might suggest looking into how the lensometer you use deals with auxillary lenses in addition to the eyepiece adjustment. I have encountered the problem myself, and in my instance added a +2.00 auxillary lens which solves the greatest portion of the problem. Every lensometer is different and while most have an eyepiece that is adjustable, others have an additional auxillary lens holder on the business end that holds prism and some plus lenses.
My question is ... where can I locate these attachments, and is their a catalogue for the various types of verts used in the southern hemisphere (although I see my old standby - the B&L Lensometer - quite often.)
Thanks for ANYONE's help!
:D
