    Prodesign

Thinking about about adding Prodesign to our office...like the styles and the quality.

I know we can sell these frames, but what is your experience with the company? Are they easy to deal with or do they give you hassle?

    Thanks!

I have them, quality for price is okay, not going to find to many spring hinges. It is a very European look which doesn't sell that well in my blue collar practice. However if you are looking for funky shapes, vibrant colors, and different materials which makes over all fun fashion forward line then it may be for you. They are fairly hassle free, no issues with flipping out the line finding stuff that I can sell well here. It does fill a niche. Just not sure if they have a by in.

Good quality, true not a lot of spring hinges. No problems with customer service. Very Euro and lots of colors. All zyls are available with nose pads, which is a nice feature.

No minimums, credit issued immediately when the rep keys in your returns in their iPad. You don't have to return cases (big deal on postage.) Do enough business with them (40 frames on boards) you get free shipping and priority on B/o's . I've had only one defective in 4 years (rare design flaw for them). If you can sell color it's a great line.

Prodesign is wonderful in that there is really nothing else like it in the price point. Variety and color availability are off the charts. I have always found their reps to be quick to return unsold product in favor of new styles, no hassle whatsoever.

Be careful when edging for their zyls; I have found their plastics to be a bit more rigid than other manufacturers. Try to keep BCs 4 or less whenever possible or frames will deform and roll around steeper-curved lenses over time.

All of the above is true. The colors are fun, and mostly tasteful, and I'm selling them fast, both titanium and zyl. After all, the grass is brown, the sky is grey, and we need some color here!

I only have great things to say aboutthe line. I love it and I honestly believe that its one of those lines that you open up a branded optical just selling prodesign. Its a huge line with tons of colors and optional nosepads. The customer service is the best and the prices are great. They could easily charge $10 more per frame. Get the line, you wont regret it

I don't carry them but found the design philosophy to be thoughtful. As an example, they slot the demo lenses on semi rimless frames to make them easier for the optician to remove.

I have a large collection, but

    1. Some temples on the metal frames are prone to breakage.
    2. You have to make certain your target consumers will appreciate their styles.

I noted recently that they are going kind of "higher end" with their new releases.

I think they are trying to further differentiate themselves as highest-quality designs, materials, and their own unique style.

It's a really cool line. It just has to resonate with your market. With mine--kinda sorta.
