What is a silver flash mirror?

I have a patient that wants a mirror coating that is "not too reflective". Would a silver flash be good? A "solid" mirror would be too much right?

A flash mirror would be your best choice for someone who wants a mirror like you said "not too reflective." They are some what subtle and add a great look to lens. In my own opinion a solid mirror reminds me of the '80s.

A flash mirror is a semi-transparent mirror so that would be what you are looking for in this case. Put it over a grey tinted lens to get a dark sunglass with a partial reflection.

Flash mirror with backside AR coating. Looks cool. Could do a gold flash mirror. Or many other colors as well.

I currently wear a, sorry to admit it, crizal sun silver mirror with B/S AR. I also wear a pair with a black mirror with ar. All will do what you want, without looking too '80's.

I like a flash mirror for people outside during the brightest part of the day, on the water, etc. It's not that solid, impenetrable 1980s law enforcement look - it's more subtle than that. Think Maui Jims, because I think all of them have a flash mirror. I'll sometimes do a silver/grey flash mirror on a brown lens for someone who wants a brown lens but doesn't like the way it looks with their black frame choice. It actually looks pretty cool. So does Brown/gold on top of a grey lens. It never would have occurred to me to mix colors if I hadn't seen it somewhere, but it works.

Thanks for the link, uncle...loved seeing those pics. So, nothing wrong with the 80's and we must remember that fashion is basically one large circle ; what comes around goes around, as we repeat the past.
