Issues with Eyemed and Computer lenses

So recently we started using eyemed which is being serviced through an Essilor lab. I am a big fan/promoter when it comes to Computer lenses of the Zeiss Business. Now with eyemed i can no longer use this lens. I have attempted to fit multiple patients (over 5) with the essilor Computer lens, and have failed everytime. I always get distortion issues or problems finding the reading power. Can anyone suggest an easier lens for Office type wearers. Ive been doing reading on the Access lens which apparantly everyone seems to like. Input would be great, My old boss used to promote FT35's with intermediate on top and reading on bottom but I am having a hard time presenting that option without the patient freaking about the line.

    Thanks.

Believe it or not, some labs still have issues processing Essilor Computer Lenses either because they are rarely ordered or staff training regarding processing--- Rx conversions, PD's (needs to be run @ near) and SEG placement etc.

The Essilor Interview is similar in design to the Access and may yield better patient satisfaction

Is Shamir Office available on Eyemed plans? Works every time, like a dream.

+1 There's the Shamir Office and Auto II Office

Your only other alternatives on EyeMed are the Essilor Interview, Sola Access, and Zeiss Business

Eyemed was so nice before and now I wish we didn't take it. I hate when insurance companies dictate patients care/lens selection

The issue with using the business is my essilor lab cant get it. now I wasn't aware the essilor computer had to use nearpds. I know it needs a 30mm B and 15mm seg. But overall it just seems like I never get a non adapt to the business or have trouble. 'i' have no knowledge with shamir products or the sola access is there anything I need to know when fitting or measuring id be willing to give anything a try if I can get patient satisfaction back...

I found info on the interview. If you or someone in the office is a presbyopic have your lab comp a pair to try. Simply submit the true distance Rx with add power and allow lab to convert for you. My ECP's make a special note "RX submitted as true distance and near" which eliminates and questions.

    1) On an FT35 there is no (as i call it) distortion in the distannce area and non in the nice large reading segment whatsoever. You get a full size view with your reading area. However the line is there. I have been wearing FT35 while having a few pairs of progressives sitting around because I prefer the other way.

    2) It is hard to convince poeple to go for a lined lens because they do not want to admit that they have arrived at the age where you need glasses for far and near. Very often they just insist on
the solution that might not be the best for what they are using them.

any tips and tricks or advice on a way to present a ft35...or am I better off trying a different computer lens
My understanding then with the interview is the 80 is for under 2.00d in addition and the 130 is for above???

    Eyemed and Computer lens designs

Word is that the Shamir Workspace and Computer should be available on Eyemed in late April. Keep an eye out for it.

I sure hope so. The Essilor Computer lens is extremely successful in my practice. I despise the way EyeMed has Davis-Vision-ized themselves.

So, is Eyemed providing all of the patient's eyewear, or just the computer pair? Somehow, I believe we are not recommending all of the patient needs with the use of any managed care. Use the plan for one pair and let them PAY for the computer pair.
