Is anyone out there a provider for either of these? What is the reimbursement on exam/materials in comparison with VSP or EyeMed? Our office is considering accepting one or both, but I'd like some real world info, not just corporate mumbo jumbo.

Spectera is a few dollars less that vsp on the exam but on glasses don't plan on making any more than a state Medicaid. Avesis is similar to Spectera. I would stay away from both unless you really need the patients.
I agree with buckeye.
For us Spectera was nearly 1/2 the reimbursement of VSP on exam. Glasses were a strict dispensing fee, that wasn't enough to cover a licensed optician's salary for their time. Also contacts must be ordered through Spectera - a very small dispensing fee.
Avesis didn't require certain labs to fulfill glasses or contacts, but reimbursement was terribly low. Again not enough to cover the time of your optician's salary.
I dropped both as quickly as I had joined.
