Anyone familiar with a tint: FL-41?

    Hello comrades-
We have a patient who suffers from migraines and are trying to help with the pain and light sensitivity. Our research came up with a filtered lens called RL-41? If anyone is familiar with this or any other lens/tint/solution to help her with the chronic, persistent migraines please chime in. This patient has suffered with this condition for 28 out of 37 years on the planet and not once did any of her physicians recommend she be seen by an Ophthalmologist! Wow. Needless to say we'd like to help our patient with a meaningful solution.

    Thanks as always,
    Marcie Patten

I had one ask about it and called Zeiss and they have a specific tint for the FL-41. Give one of your labs a call and they should be able to do that for ya.

C'mon man!! Haven't you ever heard of lookin' at the world thru rose-colored glasses before?? Changes your whole perception on stuff...and might aid in the treatment of migraine headaches, dyslexia, and general strain. Whoa, dude....

Redhot Jumper pink/brownish lens dye .....................................

In the days of glass lenses they where called Cruxite A, B, C made by American Optical

    or

Softlite 1, 2, 3, made by Bausch and Lomb,

These days you can copy them with a simple pink/brownish lens dye.

    Marcie,

Maybe going direct to BPI for your research and info may help. You may even be able to get them to direct you to a lab that processes a bunch of them to have them do it for you? I have done the "tint your own", hope the lab gets it close, shot in the dark, tints, with varying degrees of success. I have found that when patients realize what color or density the FL-41 is......suddenly their headaches are not nearly as bad and the flourescent lights miraculously don't bother them anymore! I have yet to find a patient who was serious enough to go for the real deal. You may want to look into the work of Dr. Ian Jordan as well.....fascinating!

    Good luck on your search!

    Pure grade A snake oil.

Sadly, we've had a recent round of them again, as one of our low vis docs has taken it upon herself to prescribe it willy nilly. We've probably done 10 or so this year. Wanna guess how many have come back and asked/demanded to be changed to clear?

(I'll give you a hint: exactly ALL of them.)
