I posted it for those of us that become cynics by Friday, and like to blow off a little steam.

I posted it for those of us that don't take ourselves so serious that we can't chuckle at the mess our industry is in.

I posted this for those of us that sometimes wish we could just open our door to the public, so they can clean us out, so we can start something less stressful...like a pizza shop.

I posted this for independents that are trying to figure out whether to pay their rent, their frame, or their lab bill, and wondering if there will ever be a time when they'll be able to pay all three in the same month.

I posted this for those in the trenches, their sleeves rolled up, dealing with demanding people on medicaid, whose vision benefits are much better than they themselves ever hope to see.

I wrote this for the independents that are celebrating the fact that they managed to make payroll, even though they themselves didn't get a check.

I posted this so that maybe someone that's been stressing out about Eyemed might be able to smile at something. Judging from my PMs, many folks did. (I'm glad).

More specifically, I posted this for Fezz, Optical 24/7, and some of the other folks that I like to sit around and laugh at ourselves with. We've been doing it for years, and speaking for myself, if all 23,000+ members don't laugh along with us, I'm neither surprised, nor concerned.

    Thanks guys!

I guess we all come to Optiboard for different reasons, but the main reason I'm here, is to hang out with fine folks like y'all!

Great day......I had a "smell the roses" day off. LOveD IT!

You are right about the funny choices people have made to represent themselves, and their product, including non-optica companies. It usually hurts them, unless it goes viral(like the chocolate one lately).

I wish they would also pick models that are suitable in age, and fit for the frame being sold/represented. I have noticed a few that use "real" people in their ads/promo.

No they haven't changed. The articles are mostly hidden advertising, designed not for true information but to spark add revenue. I do like Vision Care Product News the best, less fluff. Has 20/20 ever said anything? Sadly, we have to pay for subscriptions to change that, and none of us now can afford to.

Now if you want the exact opposite, pay a visit to Lindberg's site and click over to the "precious" selection in their showroom.
