help please, with thin trivex grinding on gerber/coburn generator

Hey guys, I need help with a thickness problem on my Generator. It seems to be grinding Trivex material too thin, especially when there is prescribed prism in RX.
Thanks for any advice in advance...

When was the last time you did an alignment of the machine?

Have you checked your layout program for what it's default settings are for Trivex?

Many times you will see this if a substitution is made for the material to get it through the program and into the machine.

What type of Gen are you using? SGX? And how thin are we talking..a few tenths off or much more than that. As Mike mentioned, check default thickness in you LMS for trivex. The defaults may be incorrect. Since Trivex is such a hard material with low ease of cutting a couple of things may be occurring during the cutting cycle. If you are cribbing the lens might be getting pulled out of the chuck ever so slightly. Also check prism index setting in LMS and Gen and make sure they match. If not correct the gen might be cutting more prism than needed in the Rx. Try cutting a lens a plano with small amount of prism No Cribbing and Slowest Cut Cycle available in gen with proper cutting flute

Thank you, It's an SGX, I did a couple of things to it today, such as, change the brushes, and checked the settings. Seemed to be correct, I'm going to try to slow down the cutting cycle and not cribbing the lens to see if that works. Thanks again for the advice.

Are your fining pads for trivex compensated for in your settings?
