I sent my PP entry yesterday, which was the deadline.
looking forward to seeing other boarder's entries.

"March 7, 2013 – HAUPPAUGE, NY – As part of their 40th Anniversary celebration, Santinelli International is holding a “Think Outside the Box Edge” Rimless Eyewear Contest. The company is asking their ME Lens Edger clients to create and submit a pair of highly imaginative rimless eyewear using the edger’s innovative Design Cut technology. Winning entries will be displayed at the company’s Vision Expo West booth in October and on the company’s Facebook page.According to Gerard Santinelli, President & CEO, “We know that so many of our clients are incredibly creative and love having the opportunity to be ‘designers’ with their ME edgers. Now they can share their creations with the industry by being a part of our celebratory contest!”
In addition to having bragging rights and their eyewear on display, 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners will receive $500, $250 and $100, respectively, toward any purchase within Santinelli International’s ever-expanding product line. To enter the contest, visit:www.santinelli.com/ThinkOutsidetheBoxEdge.
For additional details, please call Michele Candiano at 631.731.1307."

So, can we see what you sent in?
No free ME-2000?
If you win first place four times, you might be able to afford one of their service calls.
Barry, their prize money is an insult. Your time, labour, product cost etc were probably more that the prize. OK you will have some special bragging rights but how cheap can a large corporation be.
Don't be so hasty, coupe. I'm not so sure about "bragging rights". I've seen a few other entries (I've shared mine with them), and they are FAR more involved and exotic than mine.
I think for any participants, it's not about the gift certificate/money. It *is* about the bragging rights. But truth be told, I really enjoyed thinking it all up. I learned alot about what my ME1200 can do that I don't access regularly.

Ok, but I still find it very cheap...in image and money...for the enterance.
I've seen Barry's entry. All I'll say is.....Flawless & Awesome!
My understanding is that the winner in Vegas advances to the Nidek world regional semi-finals at the Sao Paulo optical show in December. The winners from there go to the Nidek world finals at the Tokyo Optical Fair held on April 1. The world champion wins a prototypical six axis milling edger.
