Angry Frustrated with our Marco 101

My predecessor had taken apart our Marco 101 and did NOT put it back together properly. I have everything sorted except for the marking pins (which are brand new). They will not strike a low power lens. I have added a couple small washers to bring the pin-mount a wee bit further forward but this causes the marks to be off a little vertically.
I'm at a loss where to go from here, any bright ideas? I hope I've described my situation well, if not ask and I'll clarify.

    Thanks in advance!

    Chris

Do you have the springs mounted as well? If so, are they new? If not, use new ones that will help push them forward to the correct position. I have the manual if you need the ordering number.

Adding a note- the springs are for each of the 3 pins, not the single spring that is for the assembly. As for the assembly, as you push down on this, does it fully reach the stopping point with a definitive hit or does it get bogged down and maybe not go all the way?

As for the pins did your predecessor order them? Are they definitely the correct pins?

Is there ink dried up on the top of the pin and maybe the springs that is blocking the free movement of the marking pins like a geriatric colon loaded with 2 1/3 bounds of Swedish Fish?

    Swedish fish? Urp...
Agreed. The pins won't move enough if all gunked up. Take the pins out, replace the springs, get rid of the extra washers, soak the housing in alcohol or something similar and get it squeaky clean.
Sort of like Colon Blow. (I blame Fezz for making me remember that skit!)

Depending on the type of marking pins either self inking or the type that pick up ink from pad...there is a stop set screw on slide table that can be adjusted. I have an older model and pins come really close to lens holder which is a small protective piece that pops in. If that is missing it will account for at least 5-10 mm depth
