ABB+ODG+Digital Eye Lab=ABB Optical Group?

I must have missed this completely?

I was placing a web order on ABB and I noticed that their "Logo" shows:

ABB Optical Group
ABB*ODG*Digital Eye Lab

ODG and Digital Eye Lab where a separate, competing company.

When did this take place?

I think they made the purchase early in the year and have been transitioning, not all that smoothly I may add. It has expanded their ophthalmic lens catalog (I don't fiddle with CLs) quite a bit, but they all show out of stock when you add them to the cart.

Earlier this year it was announced... I might add right after we switched from ABB to ODG

. ODG does have a significantly better stock lens catalog. It is frustraiting that our options for CL's are dwindling even more.

Digital Eye Lab,which is a division of ODG since its inception, at least 6 years. ABB was recently purchased by ODG.

Uhh, nope its the other way around.

ABB had a limited catalog by themselves, but it fit my needs and they have been very very good to work with. Aside from a few shipping errors since the acquisition they have been pretty much flawless. I'm looking forward to their expanded service potential.

Yeah it was quite a shock when we called "ODG" like we always do for ordering standard contacts....and we get "Thank you for calling ABB"....HUH!? Our office had no clue!
