Pete, We missed you in Vegas

Gees, Pete,

Ian and I missed you in Vegas. We had some memorable times outside of meeting at the LIVE Eyewear booth..... the Zeiss Party, the Marchon Party, the dancing waters at the Bellagio and walking 2 miles to the Hard Rock because his cohorts from Alberta said it was close. Ian flagged a fellow in a jeep as to the distance we had left and low and behold it was like 20 more blocks! Sweet guy, he gave us a lift and we drove the last stretch with our hair blowing in the night. Was great and he was a doll!

I had a cool room at the Venetian overlooking Treasure Island and the pools. Will do it again it was worth the extra bucks.

Saw some of your kinda of women! Bad part is I never said good bye to Ian as he wasn't at his booth when I returned late Saturday Afternoon after class. Had a blast and hope to see you, Ian, Steve and Harry at our table in NY. I am making reservations for Carmines on Saturday Night 6:30PM hope you'll join us. Reservations are 6 months in advance.

I'm afraid to even ask what "My kinda woman" is... ;)

I should be at Expo East and West next year (and Indianapolis in November if anyone is going to the OLA). For now, I'm just looking forward to getting back to my office (I've been on the go since last Thursday).

Actually, after being out and about at various locations and events, it is really nice to come back to your very own office with the little lamp, stereo playing the music you like, tiny fridge, and comfortable chair! Now, if I can only stay here a couple of days, I just might get caught up on all the stuff that has piled up (I know, whinge whinge whinge).

Pete, I can identify with piling up! Almost hate to take vacation for the fear of what is waiting when I return! But it's nice to have a place that is yours. Set up the way you want and nobody can change or alter or use!

I'm sure Ian got a few eyefuls for me! Will anybody be in Indianapolis for the OLA at the end of November (Indianapolis in late November... who comes up with these places anyway)? If so, we can sit into the wee hours and enjoy the sights (that is, if there is anything to see under the eskimo parkas and hooded coats)!

Hey, I'm a married dude now... If I look, it is only to reaffirm to myself that I married the most beautiful woman in the world (and the fact that she puts up with me is a bonus).

That said, yeah, I did get a pretty good eyeful, cause, like, I'm doin' ya a favour, right?? That's what buddies are for!

Sounds like you have the PC answer to the wife down pat as well! My tried-and-true line when asked the question that should never be spoken (i.e., "Do you think she's pretty?") is...

"In the ways she resembles you, she is absolutely gorgeous... otherwise, she's okay I guess."

Of course, I don't think she's fallen for that one yet, but I keep trying! ;)
