Idea Patient switching frames after PAL sent to lab...

Hello! I work in a finishing lab & I have a patient that chose a frame, we sent the order off to the lab, and now she would like to switch her frames. The new frames have a seg of 22, the old frames have a seg of 19. Can I just adjust the seg ht when I receive the lenses, or do I have to send off for a complete new set of lenses?

You should be able to use the same lenses and simply adjust the seg when you edge it. The only time it can be an issue is if the frame has a dramatic difference in style, size or shape. Surfacing labs take in to account frame information when they are making lenses, so you can sometimes have cut-out issues, or trouble with lens thickness.
Patient, ".. Doctor says I have a subscription for stigmata.. Can you fill that?"
    Me, "..Um.. "

OK! Thank you, that's what I thought. The eye size of the new frame is a bit larger, but I don't think it will be a cut out issue. I'm going to give a try and see how it goes. I'm pretty much running this lab with my doctor, and I have 4 years retail experience, 3 months in a surfacing lab, and 6 months here in the finishing lab. So I will definitely be using this forum quite a bit!

Some labs are very precise with uncut lenses and don't leave much breathing room after decentration. If the A is larger you might run into issues.

    Especially if it comes cribbed.

Or if it's a plus RX. But switching to a deeper seg height shouldn't be a problem. The reverse might have been.
