    Study Guide?

    Hello,

I am planning on taking the ABO test this November and am looking for a solid study guide to help me pass.

I have no prior experience in the field so it needs to start from the ground up.

    I found this site...

    http://www.nao.org/exam%20prep/abo/examprepabo.html

There are a lot of choices there. Not sure which would be best or if there is a better resource.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Forget the CERT...go with the Basic Opticians Tutorial. It follows the ABO Job analysis. BTW, I do NOT get any royalty on it.

The way it works at my job, I have to get certified to get into the optical department.

Will the Basic Opticians Tutorial help me pass the test?

Hey Steve, congrats on pursuing your ABO Cert. Check out this site http://www.laramyk.com/category/reso...openoptix/abo/. I has a great deal of info to read and study as well as questions with answers. Also, get your hands on an "Ophthlamic Dispensing" by Brooks and Borish. Fezz on this site can help you with getting one a little less expensively.

I your place of employment and state law will allow, get your hands on every pair of glasses you can and ask many questions to your coworkers. Your hands on experience will help you with the test as much as your studies will.

You've picked the right forum to look for help, there are many people that helped me in my quest here and I'm sure you'll be as fortunate.

Feel free to message me with any questions. Good luck!

The book arg8194 mentions is here:

Yeah it's expensive but it's so worth it for starters. Good luck!
