Should we buy the warranty on new santinelli ?

Our New Santinelli edger is just one year old and they are calling to sell us an extended warranty. It's quite expensive. I would think a one year old edger shouldn't have issues as long as it's properly cleaned and cared for. What do ya'll think?

I use a tracer but whoever answers is probably going to want to know how many jobs a day it is doing.

I skipped it... but I can fix most issues with it. Probably saved over 15k doing it myself.

Extended warranties are like insurance. My Gramps used to say "If you can't afford to loose it, insure it." If you can afford what it *may* cost to fix it, pass on it.

    That's my feeling, too.

Those extended warranties from Santinelli are pretty darned expensive, aren't they?

The most expensive part of the warranty coverage is the techs travel expense and time. We do not buy the warranty and we do all repairs ourself. There have not been many over the past 10 years and 2 different machines.

I purchased the warranty for the discounted parts they offer 75% off for the 1st year when I purchased a used machine with an unknown history, After the first year I didn't renew.

    PS, helpful info would be..

    which edger you have?
    volume?
    daily, weekly, monthly maintenance?
is it used my multiple people or 1 tech with experience?
