How far off can a polarization axis be before someone would typically *notice* that it's off?
Thanks!

Depends on script and how much cyl. to some degree. For the most part 5 degrees would be safe. You can always try it and see. Trust me, they will come back. Just make notes.
I can't wear a plano polar that is even a couple degrees off axis...makes me sick!
Me too. I think I may just be a little OCD about that stuff... This is a really interesting post; just the other day I had a job where the cyl axis and polarization axis were not in cahoots and it made me think of this. Maybe I'm mistaken, but it doesn't seem that the Rx would have that much affect on how someone adapts to polarization axis... thoughts?
I think a parallel "intolerance" is a tilted segment in a trifocal. It is extremely obvious to some wearers, especially with astigmatism over one diopter. The compensation method to overcome the discomfort, is to head tilt, or eyewear tilt, and relief is a accurate axis execution. The apparent haze of "unstopped polarized" light is obvious to one eye, annoying as well.
