[bc]NEW COLLECTIONS FROM THE SAFILO GROUP[/bc]
SAFILO

Safilo Design was presented to the eyewear sector only at the beginning of the year, but is already widely acclaimed and is particularly appreciated by those seeking a combination of up-market quality and simple, essential design. The Safilo Collection comes from a company that has led the field from the very beginning, and has always invested considerable resources in research. The collection has now been expanded with the addition of two new ranges. The first is a series of glasses with mounts in grylamid, an ultra-light, hypoallergenic plastic, with almost invisible temples in beta titanium. Clear rubber ear pieces ensure a comfortable fit. These glasses are extremely light in weight, and even individuals suffering from skin allergies can wear them.

Specially selected materials combined with essential styling makes the models in this range fine examples of minimalist design.

The range also includes models with bronze mounts and steel temples. These models are also lightweight, essentially designed and nickel-free, and combine small, rectangular or oval lenses with thin flat temples.

The Elasta range is classic and comfortable. All the models in this range are specially designed for maximum comfort, with frames big enough to accommodate progressive lenses too. Knot motifs on the temples and pastel shades like light pink, wisteria, blue and green, in addition to a choice of more traditional shades make the ladies’ models in the Elasta range particularly attractive.
Safilo Junior also offers a series of attractive, comfortable models for children, in bright, cheerful colours with touches of added fun like little balls in the ear pieces. The children’s models are available in a wide range of light, bright colours like red, blue, sky blue, pink, wisteria, water green, and in two-tone combinations like light mauve/purple, pink/lilac, palladium/red and blue with acid green ear pieces.

CARRERA

The Carrera collection of vision and sun eyewear confirms its tech-fashion look, combining an essential style in line with the latest fashions and technological solutions for wearability and comfort.
Using input from testimonials like Christian Vieri and Lilian Thuram, the new Carrera range seeks to achieve maximum lightness, versatility, and creativity.

The Christian Vieri range is just one of the new Carrera lines. After the limited edition of the C9 Iridium model that Carrera produced for the World Soccer Championships, Vieri will be wearing this new line of fashion oriented steel frame sunglasses with interchangeable polycarbonate lenses for the coming publicity campaign.

The new Carrera range is available in a wide range of colours: sky blue, dusky pink, green and flash in universal unisex models.
Innovation is the keyword behind Carrera’s new collection of vision eyewear, the materials of which demonstrate just how much research and effort has been put into improving comfort and durability. The aluminium in the Lilian Thuram vision frames is coated inside the temples in a special resin to maximise wearability and versatility. The titanium of all the other models is a natural technological material, chemically pure and light in weight, and ensures strength, exceptional flexibility and hypoallergenic wearability. The men’s and ladies’ models all share the same materials.

OXYDO

The Oxydo collection of vision and sun frames, designed by Enzo Sopracolle, is packed with creativity. The new sunglasses range focuses on innovative ideas, like the use of optyl in one series of petite models, which includes some highly feminine ones. Special features are the X logo and the Oxydo name silk-screened on the temples and bridges. Colours range from classic to new, both for the frames and the lenses. Black, blue and brown are accompanied by red, green, turquoise, violet and lavender with lenses in matching shades. The vision models come in bright colours like crystal and sky blue.

Alongside the acetate models, the Oxydo collection also includes beta titanium models with ultra-light, hypoallergenic titanium temples. These designs use restrained lines and young styling. There is a broad range of bold colours, with some daring choices for the ear pieces. Blue frames are combined with red ear pieces for example, lilac with green and azure blue with orange.
One small, rectangular model in ultra-thin laminated metal combines a particularly innovative design and colour scheme, with advanced techniques used to give the inside and outside of the frame contrasting colours.

Oxydo also stands for innovation and the “Oxydo Race” range incorporates advanced technical solutions in its Pit Lane and Pole Position models. These two moulded models with round lenses and side bands are brand new in concept. The concave profiles are particularly original and the slim tubular metal temples bring out the innovative lenses in mirror coated brown, light grey, mirror coated light blue and mirror coated violet smoke.

BLUE BAY

The new models in the Blue Bay collection of eyewear frames, also designed by Enzo Sopracolle, focus more on shape. While all the new models are rectangular and geometrical in form, the metal ones are smaller in size, while the acetate ones are larger. Thanks to the use of optyl, the acetate range is available in an amazing choice of colours, a range that is further extended by combinations like lilac/yellow, grey/orange, blue/yellow, violet/beige, blue/green, cyclamen/burgundy. The same styles are also available as sunglasses, with original colour schemes to match the lenses.

The vision models made in steel are light in weight and have a spring hinges for long life as well as comfort. The bright and cheerful range of colours really expresses the spirit of this line of eyewear, aimed at cosmopolitan young people.

The full face sun glasses with metal bar bridge are very striking, and the curving, flat lenses are polarised for even better protection. This range is the subject of a new advertising campaign created by Jason Brooks. Jason Brooks is a fashion illustrator with a worldwide reputation. After studying at St. Martin’s College, he worked with magazines such as Vogue, Elle and Max and companies like Coca-Cola, Nike and Smart Cars. In the illustrations produced for Blue Bay…….

The Gucci collection of vision and sun eyewear conveys a striking Gucci image.

The Optyl models, with their minimalist lines, are embellished with a discreet metal plate with the Gucci name on it in the temples. Available as vision and sun eyewear, these frames come in sophisticated colours: Bordeaux, khaki, blue, light and dark Havana, beige, light pink, and black.

The exclusiveness of titanium is highlighted in some of the open lens models, minimalist in shape but with spatula style temples. The steel-rimmed models are light and hypoallergenic, with temples of a totally new design and long shaped ear pieces.
Classic, ever-popular colours share the limelight with fashion colours like lilac, bronze and plum, available in both gloss and mat finish. Spring hinges ensure maximum comfort.

For men, Gucci is offering two new acetate frames, with plates and strikers for opening the temples. The sober Havana and granite hues help bring out the masculine styling.

POLO RALPH LAUREN

This Polo Ralph Lauren collection of vision and sun eyewear confirms the image of essential yet sophisticated style. Frames are small and colours sophisticated and discrete. Understatement emerges clearly from the matching colour acetate ear pieces and the absence of showy decoration, touches that go together to create style and embody elegance. Spring temples guarantee maximum comfort. The Ralph Lauren brand is identified by the new RL logo that discretely embellishes the temples and bridges. Bright, clear colours like crystal, lilac, red, light and dark blue lend flare to the collection’s plastic models.

Sophisticated design is the main feature of this new Valentino collection of eyewear. There is no showy decoration; details are essential and the frames carefully designed in this wide range of glasses for men and women.

The ladies’ models are rectangular and geometrical in style and come in a sophisticated and innovative choice of colours. Clever striations add light to grey, blue and red, while traditional horn is enlivened by beige, orange and blue.

The metal frames are coloured gold, light or dark blue, pink, and violet. Colour is different on the inside and the Havana ear pieces have stripes in the same colour as the metal frame.

Men’s vision models feature a square, linear design and come in darker colours.

To give us a taste of things to come from the new range of sunglasses, Valentino presents here a series of 3 sunscreens. The wrap-around lenses of these sunglasses provides total protection. The metal V logo turns inside a ring on the lens hinge to facilitate the operation of the thin temples. Some models also feature an acetate perspiration band in the same colour as the ear pieces and lenses. The colour range is classic – gunmetal, black, palladium, ruthenium.

OLIVER

The Oliver collection of vision and sun eyewear embodies evolution in style in the form of original lines and colours. The acetate models are petite with essential details. Bright colours – red, violet, dark blue/light blue, grey/crystal – reflect a strong personality. Some of the flat and thin nylon models feature lightweight steel frames in wisteria, scarlet, lilac, electric blue and palladium, colours that really bring out metal’s natural shine.
The square, rectangular lines make are particularly flexible in the ultra-thin rimmed models, while the models with acetate temples feature attractive colour combinations between the metal and the acetate.

DIESEL

Creativity and design are the central features of the new Diesel collection of vision eyewear for young people who are into street style.

The metal models featuring colour variation are particularly attractive. In these models colours start in lighter shades towards the bridge, become darker at the side joints and lighter again towards the ear pieces. Blue merges into pink, gun metal into violet and red into Bordeaux.

Ectodome and Isotope are two acetate frames with original perforated bridges and straight temples featuring varying thickness. Opaque finish makes these models even more original.
The combination of materials is particularly striking in the models with innovative acetate frames and aluminium temples. The varying colours of the frames contrast sharply with the single shade of the temples.

The other acetate products are modern in design and come in a range of vivid colours.

The creativeness of the line is even more apparent in the sunwear range. The perforated look that has characterised the Diesel collection since its inception is the main feature of three models in particular, one wrap-around and two large lens models. This original motif takes on another new look in these latest designs, with holes pressed into the lenses to which the temples are attached directly. The temples are held shut with a metal button bearing the D logo.

Zygoma and Zigote are two metal models with innovative flat wrap-around lenses that provide total protection even at the sides.

MAX MARA

The Max Mara collection of vision and sun eyewear is always packed with style.

The new range has abandoned rounded soft lines for squarer, more geometrical designs. The ultra-thin laminated metal models are small in size, but big in design content thanks to the finish of the profiled temples, featuring a different colour on the inside, matching the bridge. The effect is extremely elegant: black and ruthenium make a perfect pair, as do burgundy and pink, silver and blue, gold and mulberry, blue and mauve. Spring hinges ensure perfect fit.

Colour plays a central role in the squarer semi-rimless metal models. The impeccably styled frames are finished in different colours on the inside and outside.

The elegant, sophisticated acetate models have a metal bar on the temples for a really exclusive look. These large frames are available in a square and a rounder design and come in quiet, warm colours: Havana, striped black, red/grey, and blue/grey with a gold and gunmetal finish metal insert.

YVES SAINT LAURENT

The new Yves Saint Laurent vision eyewear collection captures the concept of design as pure creativity.

Basic and bold designs, sabre-shaped temples and thick frames are just some of the features behind this striking collection of eyewear.

Precious materials like titanium take on square, geometric shapes in the men’s and ladies’ models. The YSL logo appears discretely in small metal inserts. Classic colours like black, crystal and dark horn in the plastic models, rhodium, light gold, ruthenium, and black in the metal models emphasise the exclusivity of these new designs.

The unique, original acetate models that will appear in the coming advertising campaign are available as vision and sun glasses. Their notably rounded shapes, high, straight bridges, and thick, angular style bring to mind traditional oriental styles. The bold frame acetate model has a real vintage look.
