And I *like* Silhouette. There's no company whose every product is perfect.

After all this commotion on this thread I wanted to find out what the word "troll" really means and found it on Wikipedia plus a lot more, if you go on the link above and see for yourself.Originally Posted by [URL

I need a fancy picture like you, so you won't have to ask. I am a he.
Their job is to service their accounts. For their pricing I expect the frame rep to do just that. Then there is the "Partnership" program letter with the price increase letter a few weeks behind. I have filled the void with other lines and my patients couldn't be happier. I have yet to have one person walk due to not selling sillhouette. I always offer them a frame that wont break and that is less expensive.
Wow. I hate it that you see so much breakage in their frames. I see maybe one snapped temple every six months and those are usually wearer error and usually replaced under their 2 yr warranty with no issues. But to each his own, there are plenty of alternatives out there. :)
Every office/shop has their own preference with regards to manufacture and style. You have to go with what works for your office, but I disagree with dissing a company that does fine in many locations. Sounds more like a rep issue as opty4062 pointed out. I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion though.
Welcome to Optiboard! Hope the first spanking didn't hurt to much.
Why not sell these superior alternatives (which are a 1/3 of price) for same? If not more? Why less? Because you paid less? But it's superior isn't it? Shouldn't have any problems getting more dough.....
No it is the Company, and the Rep.
Yes sir it is a great product.
Superior because they don't break like the silhouettes. Less because I can, and yet I still make the same as I would selling the Silh line. Plus I have happy customers that trust me, and the products I sell. They come back and are loyal customers not just one time sales/rappings.
I like Silhouette too, their products are easy to work with in our lab; given that you process the lenses correctly. I also truly believe that I can learn something from everybody, and I don't doubt for a minute that we all can learn something from Optical T even if it may be what not to do in some cases.
Nope! It's ok to stand behind a great product that you package with great service, and ask for it. Just because you find a less expensive alternative doesn't mean you have to charge less for it. That's not greed. Everyone's philosophy is different. Some products we'll pass on the savings, others we won't. I'm never going to apologize for that. But I think if every single little scenario you get worried that you're "rapping" someone, then idk why you're worried about their wallet? You must not believe you're worth what you're asking?? Then lower your prices. Otherwise, you've made a good business purchase and are rewarded for it. Not driven more ppl to online.

What exactly is a higher level of service? I think that you if you go above and beyond what it takes to accomplish the job then yes you can charge for your extra services. You can also not charge and treat the extra services as added value for your customer. As long as you are making a profit that will sustain and enable grow your business...it's all good.
