locating large lens blanks.

hey guys,

i need to find a source for a 80mm or larger lens blank for use in a patients designer aviators.
my counterpart in the lab says no one makes even 80mm anymore. i realize this may be a long shot but maybe i'll get lucky.

younger optics has 80mm pal as well as D-28,

What material are you looking for? There are several vendors that make 80mm blanks these days. Transitions is one you may have some trouble with.

X-Cel makes 81 mm in single vision and some bifocals.

She decided on single vision i think cr-39 should be fine, but are there other options? thanks ya'll for the xcel info.

I cant imagine needing more then a 70mm blank on a SV if you grind prism decentration. 76mm is available through most manufacturers.

Shamir and VisionEase make 80mm CR39. Xcel makes an 81mm blank in CR39 as well.
Shamir and VisionEase also make 80mm Poly.
Xcel Makes an 81mm in Trivex in 6.25, 7.25, 8.25, 9.25 base.

KBCo makes CR39 Polar in 80mm.

Select proper lens blanks from market. Mark lens blanks according to specifications using lens measuring equipment. Mount lenses in metal, plastic or rimless frames. Inspect mounted lenses for conformance to specifications.
