    Industry leaders and fellow visionaries,
Currently EDA Eyewear Design Alliance is having a frame design contest (see above). If you are not interested in designing a frame, could you please go to our facebook page and help vote for the fellow Opticians who have submitted their works of art. Your support is both encouraged and appreciated and does make a difference in the Optical community.

I've been following this as I can from my own page. Don't worry, I'm not stealing ideas, I have too many of my own. Read the description to learn more about my project https://www.facebook.com/AngelOptical/info

Actually, I would love to have a collection of different fruit designs for plastic frames by laser engraving fruit skin grain on the temple surface, follow by stenciled micro sandblasting and air brush painting to enhance color texture of the fruit, and then add layers and layers of nylon base clear coat to have the "inlay" effect , cover by the PU base clear coat for the purpose to harden the surface without scratching! Of course, I would embed a few seeds to make it look real!

    Jerry,
You only have a couple of days to submit your specifications to our Facebook page. But your idea sounds very original and I am sure you would get some good support from the Optical community.

How would my support of your company make a difference in the optical community?

Jacqui, mine is more 3D effect than color transfer printing over Tr-90!

Decrocet uses lamination. A layer of coloured acetate for the back, layer of design material (fabric, foil, gold leaf, feathers, flowers, leaves, etc), and then a clear acetate top layer. The designs that you see with their material is really IN the acetate, not printed onto it.

Diopterman, Each of the participants have taken the time to submit their own designs. These "works of art" could be the next big thing to hit the Optical market. But without the support of fellow Optical industry members such as yourself, these designers would not stand a chance of winning this contest.
