    Confused accolade freedom lenses

Our Essilor sales rep just told us to try Essilor Accolade Freedom Lenses. He says it is as good as most of the Varilux products and Shamir Spectrum but cheaper. According to him, Shamir Spectrum and Varilux products are more expensive since they are brand name products. Does it make any sense to anybody?
Why to sell/buy more expensive lenses if they are not any better ?

When you say 20% wider corridor, are you comparing that to the Spectrum and which Varilux. Not questioning your assumption, just wondering which lenses you are comparing the Accolade to.

Going by what they used to adversize. Now their website: http://www.accoladelenses.com/Accola...onix+Tech.html Says Hyperope 12% more, Myope 12% wider fields. When they came out with it, they said 20% wider. Looks like they are comparing to Ovation.

I strongly believe that fitting any lens without understanding if fully represents potential disappointment to your patients. You have a few questions to answer of any lens, to fit it well. Is it a hard, soft or adaptive design? If its an adaptive lens, what changes with each add power increase? If its wider in the corridor, it will have to be narrower or have more distortion somewhere else, where is the loss zone?
