    Blue Jumper Break the record

It's getting close...make sure you mark your calenders for SEPTEMBER 3!! If you are going to be away from home, make arrangements to "kidnap" or borrow a computer and sign onto OPTIBOARD!

(Somebody with more experience than me, please post a link to SarahR 's optiboard record breakers thread...)

Ok, now DID we EVER agree on a TIME to meet....????

Dont think a time was ever set due to bickering about which time zone to use..
I'll chuck in a time to start the ball rolling..21.00 GMT which should make it approx 15.00 in the states somewhere......

    Question

    Jenny,

Bring me up to date. Would this be for the most people ever on Optiboard at one time???

Time looks good for the east coast of the US. If my old brain serves me that would be 3:00 Eastern Daylight time.

    Lightbulb time

 1500 hrs EST would not really be a good time as most of us would be working and not have access to the internet. I would suggest more like 2200 hrs PST. This would allow the whole US access from 7 to 10 when most of us would be home, as i am sure most of these will come from the states. Another thought would be to do it on a Sunday.

I think I'm going to have to agree with Harry on the time...Harry were you suggesting 2200 EST? I know this would be quite late for John and company, but I hope some of our international friends can be coaxed into signing on in the middle of their night ~early Sept 4th~ so we can keep the date on Sept 3, to honor our "Optidad" on his birthday! And if we party all night...we can stay on to say THANK YOU to Marlena (on her birthday) for sharing Steve with us.
    More thoughts? Comments?

oops...I just thought....Steve and Marlena may have dinner plans away from home...hate to have the guests of honor miss the fun! Maybe you guys could check in after you get home??
Gee, we could turn out the lights and all hide behind the sofa...and then jump up and say....

Dont know about the other brits but 04.00 Gmt is a no go for me as its a work day......add a couple on to 06.00 Gmt and i'm up
You are all going to have to get a pretty good time set as i think that the members online covers a 15 min period..ie if you visit the board for 3 mins you will still be shown as here for 12 mins after you have left.....Unless they have altered how its done.

JohnR, Maria, Sandeep, David Wilson, et. al.:

What is the earliest or latest you are willing to be on the board on September 3rd or September 4th (if be the case)?

:finger:Now now, we're bickering again aren't we?! This is really difficult but it CAN be done. How about if the GMT gang log on at lunchtime then the rest of the world will be all on the same date when they log on. OK It's work time or middle of the night but it's only a one off. Hijack the work computer, set an alarm, take a sicky! (I did write conversions to all time zones but I had too many smilies and lost the lot! ) I can't be bothered to do it all again:angry:

It is by universal misunderstanding that all agree. For if, by ill luck, people understood each other, they would never agree.

How about 730PM EST 9-3-02 which would be 12:30 AM in London 9-4-02, 9:30 AM in Sydney on 9-4-02.

All the rest could figure it from there.

Sorry for the delay in replying, Cindy. I've been away for a few days. Your last suggestion sounds good to me. 9.30am Sydney time on the 4th.

    Wink

I may have to work that evening...but if so, hubby promises that he will sign on for me about 7:30pm, EST (19:30 EST) on the 3rd, and I will join the "party" later, if anyone is still on....
(Or maybe I can beg a shift trade since I usually don't mind working nights...) ok...I will check the schedule tomorrow.
And for the event...maybe a roll call somewhere to post an official counting of members? Wouldn't it be lovely if some of our non-posting members jumped in to get their feet wet?

That would make it 5:30pm my time, no problem here. Actually have the week off so if I'm awake I'll log on.

So then it is official. 7:30PM EST on 9-3-02? You can convert it using Optispares time conversion calculator to your time. I will let Steve know (if okay) and he will post it above the main forum!

    Cindy,
I'll take sleep that week any way I can get it. It's the week before our wedding and I'll be (heck I already am) a stress case.
    :hammer:

Hopefully I'll remember Bill's name at the cermony and not call him something else. I don't think that would be a good thing.
