We now have the Republican news channel, and the Democrat news channels. No one is neutral anymore. For the most part, each channel promotes the good points of its party and ignores the bad, while ignoring any good points of the opposition and only reporting things that make them look bad. America is so divided because our people only hear one side of the story. This is done on purpose; divide and conquer, if you will.

I don't think there has ever been un-biased news reporting, which is a good thing, as long as we don't get all of our information from one source, and get a good mix of perspectives. Not an easy thing to accomplish if you have a family and two jobs. Still, it is our duty as citizens to be as informed as possible, and to communicate our concerns to our representatives through correspondence and at the voting booth.

that is one fact the nay-sayers ignore, in the long run socialized medicine drives prices down, it is already slowing premium increases as the major insurance companies (who control medicine in this country, not a good thing) try to figure out how to compete. One huge change will be the price of RX meds. instead of hundreds of dollars per month for some people, it will be tens, leaving a lot more disposable income to spread around the economy, thus creating more jobs. But this will take a few years, and no one wants to look 10 or 20 years down the road, only to the end of the quarter/month/week/day/nose...

Well, one thing that we can't argue about is the fact that the Dow closed north on 14,000 today. All is well and the Gods are smiling - Obamacare and sequestration be damned. I am going to pull some of the profits from my brokerage account and buy a new boat. I'll bet that I can find a tax loophole so that I can write it off. In retrospect, my post was out of line and unworthy of me. The entire premise for this thread was that somehow Obama pulled a fast one on the American people and that Obamacare was going to cost us $6.7 trillion dollars. That claim has been debunked.
