I watched the show, and I have written about Proof in the past for VCPN -I think the "sharks" made a sound decision...the brothers can do this on their own. It's a cool product, made from sustainable materials, but it's also a "niche" market. I like the styling, and I would sell these - but HindSight is right - the ROI can be shakey.
Lost and confused in an optical wonderland!

We've edged lenses into one. Ir broke during lens insertion. It then took days to get anyone from Proof Eyewear to respond to our emails. We would have much rather called, since our customer brought the frame into us, but there was no phone number available. When they finally did replace it, they sent the one frame twice in two shipments, and we had to pay to send their error back. So poor service, poor quality. Poor Proof.

Agree - the ROI hunger for a shark is substantial, to which any niche market in any industry is unable to provide.

very interesting video, thanks for the link!
I still think that Wood is the most ridiculous useless pointless material to build an eyeglass frame out of.
Maybe someone will get a patent on the next big idea, fashioning eyewear out of petrified fecal matter from the paleolithic.
green, sustainable, what a load of horse hockey. Metal and cellulose acetate are not causing global warming. Your chainsaws and sawdust are. Please.
