I think I've got most of you beat with this:

Shuron/Continental 463 with a 1969 build date. Even has a vacuum tube in the control box.

Made the mistake of asking Briot if they could help me troubleshoot a problem.

Dunno exactly, hung up the phone after a few minutes. Joke's on them though - I found another and now I have one for parts. They're actually pretty good machines if you have some handstone skills and size up a bit. I like the hands-on part anyways. I did just craze the center out of ARC transitions the other day, a drawback I probably just have to live with.

If the polarization being off 90 degrees on the screen is messing with your ability to block polar jobs. Get a piece of a wave retarder, 1/4 wave to clear things up. You'll know what I'm talking about. You could also use a riki pad as they are optically active.

One step ahead of u PhiTrace. Got a speediblocker for just such an emergency. Otherwise I have been able to cope by extending the fitting points on the screen with a marker then using an opaque marker to do the same on the lens. once the two crosses superimpose, your measurements are ok. Double check with a pd rule on the back just to make certain. Didn't know that about riki pads though.
