When I came into the office this morning, I expected to have a reply to the private email I sent to McCain at Smith. Not a peep. The corps don,t really care about the little ECP players in the market. They represent, to them, the need for ....individual accounting....extra shipping (rather than direct to a Costco main office).....returns & credits......30/60/90 day payments......and a need for sales reps (whom they must pay commisions). Samll ECP costs corps money.

As for disco at major chains, clients live by their pockets. A recent survey showed that most people do not wish to spent more than $50.00 on a pair of sunglasses. You don,t think the big boys know this.

As a test I have purchased, on Ebay a pair of Belleaire Smith sunglasses for $39.00. I will sell them in my office, WITH THE UNDERSTANDING that they are discontinued and can only be serviced bt Smith directly. If this works, I will continue to buy from the Ebay supplier and have a rack of BRAND NAME DISCO FRAMES at reduced prices. If what edKENdance says, I will make some good money, staisfied my client, have warrantied the glasses thru Smith and not have to worry.

It is all about....MAKING MONEY....while servicing your CLIENTs WANTS.....and being honest.

    Johns....Thank you.

If you have that ability to buy cheaper and still sell at the same price, good for you.

I only meant that a consumer cannot order Rx lenses direct from their website. Nothing to do with the lab. They direct the consumer to a practice to be fit. I know you (the optician) can do lenses anywhere you choose.
