So how long is everyone open on the Eves?

Love is a duet, each voice complementing each other and making them sound better than they would alone, each voice at times stepping back and letting the other shine. We've got a pretty good duet going Tina.
On April 28th, I'll be marrying my best friend. I can't wait!
Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after.
Closed New Years Eve and New Year's Day.
Christmas Eve until 3:00, closed Christmas Day. New Years Eve open until 4:00, closed New Years' Day.
Closed Christmas eve, Christmas day, and boxing day (day after Christmas). Then closed new years eve and new years day.

We vary somewhat, depending on the year, and the day. Traditionally, we like to give everyone time to get where they need to be, and scramble for last minute items.
This Christmas Eve falls on a Monday, so we opted to stay closed for the whole day, but normally we would work until noon. We will be on standby for the 3 hours, just in case.
New Year's Eve..........we will close at noon...............to prepare the fireworks, and start pouring the bubbbblly( I miss that cheers)!
Eyes wide open
We close at 1 PM on the Eves, normally 5 or 9 PM.
Closed both Eves, Merry Christmas all- by the way.
Closed for Christmas eve this year. New Years' eve usually is one of our busiest days of the year, we usually stay open until people stop coming in.

Not.
This year the eves fall on Monday, and I'm closed on Monday...so I didn't even have to debate that one this year...Yipee! I'm still up in the air about the day after Christmas, though **sigh** on one hand I've been EXTREMELY s---l---o---w, so I say why bother.
But, then the other hand chimes in and says "you know, if the door is locked there is NO question, there will be no sale!!" (sometimes I hate that other hand! LOL! )

We too are CLOSED on Mondays... so we have "lucked-out" on Christmas Eve. Closed that day and Christmas Day, open the 26th ..... BUT..... since New Years Eve is "so busy" I have been told we will be open.(funny how the only this schduled is a contact lens progress exam; which is free!) Ugh. No receptionist, just me and the Doc. Now how do you think that is going to work...???! ugh. I would rather eat PB&J for a week!

Sounds like the other hands got 5 green thumbs.
I leave it up to the staff. The entire office gets a monthly bonus based on sales, so if they want to hit bonus, it's worth it to them to put in the half days before/after the holiday. If they want, they can close the office altogether , but they only get paid for the holiday.

We are closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year's Day. While we would like to leave early on New Year's Eve (doc is leaving at noon), we will probably be there late because it is our busiest day of the year too on the retail side.
Christmas Eve closed (though we have been asked if we are open), Christams Day closed. New Year's Eve open regular hours and no one minds working. Busiest day of the year and we get holiday pay plus regular. Still make it home in plenty of time for the party but usually too pooped to make until midnite.
Christmas Eve open until 4 or whenever people stop coming in, closed 25th and 26th. Open normal New Year's Eve (only optical in town who is :)) and closed on the 1st.
