    Unwanted prism

Recently (About a week) getting horizontal prism in 90% of our lenses. Using Eclipse wax blocker, Optronics 2G Generator and Optek cyl machines...1st fine, 2nd fine, polish. In your opinion what is the most likely culprit?

Is the wax cooling properly ? This could be one culprit. What have you changed/done differently in the past week ?

Not doing anything different. Wax is cooling abour 10 minutes, which is what we have always done.

There is a screw that works it's way loose underneath the block axis/elevator assembly (can't remember official name.) This is most likely the problem. Unscrew and remove it and you will see a screw that has probably worked itself loose. Take it out, put blue threadlocker on it and reassemble.

You can determine if the blocker is blocking with prism by blocking the flat Plano lens and caliper lens edge to block at the 180 and 90. If the measurements differ then prism will be induced. You can check the gen in a similar manner. Block a 6 base cr 39..varify no prism @ blocking and cut to Plano. Again caliper and varify same thickness at 180 and 90.

Is the wax flowing as normal and ambient temp in the lap stable? During the winter I have to slightly increase wax temp since lab is colder. The wax seems to be sluggish and will slightly push lens up towards top fill.
